Registered Psychotherapist, BAMDiv

Hi, I’m John Marshall.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) based in Kanata, Ontario, located west of Ottawa’s downtown core. I’m a lifelong Christian, a husband, and a father of two. With a BA in philosophy from Harvard University, and an MDiv from Tyndale University and Seminary, I’ve spent my life and academic career asking all the tough questions, and I’ve found that the Bible contains all the best answers. As an RP, I work by combining spiritual guidance with proven therapeutic techniques.

If you are seeking therapy, chances are there is at least one aspect of your life that is lacking, hurting, empty, or even non-existent. My job is to help you discover and renew what is missing. It is also to help you heal what has gone wrong and what is standing in the way of you becoming the person or couple you aspire to be. Whether the problem is with your job, your relationship, your family, your depression, your anxiety, your trauma, your addiction, or whatever it is––I am here to listen to you non-judgmentally and help you see your issues from the perspective of a trained expert who genuinely cares.

I tailor evidence-based techniques to your needs. I work by staying curious and tracking your issues down to their root causes. I always have questions prepared for each session in case you don’t know where to begin. I also offer psycho-education, coping strategies, and homework exercises because I always want you to take away something you can use.
